There are more electric variants compared to just one petrol variant now available in Porsche’s Macan Indian portfolio.
After wowing us on quite a high note with the new Macan Electric last year, Porsche is quietly pulling the plug on its subsequent petrol brethren. Yes, the German manufacturer has silently delisted the Macan S and GTS petrol variants from its Indian website. The Macan S was priced at ₹1.45 crore while the latter would set you back by ₹1.53 crore (both prices are ex-showroom).

The ICE-Macan range is now just survived by the base Macan that is powered by the brand’s 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, good for 261 bhp and 400 Nm. It gets the 7-speed PDK gearbox as standard, coupled with air suspension that Porsche’s Active Suspension Management system, with a dedicated off-road mode, plus Porsche’s Torque Vectoring Plus, all options standardised – the base Porsche Macan reserves the potential to give you that ultimate sporty and fun SUV experience as well.

The base Macan costs ₹96.05 lakh (ex-showroom), but with all the add-ons, it becomes quite an expensive affair. On the other hand, the Porsche Macan Electric is available in three variants. It starts with the base variant priced at ₹1.22 crore, followed by the 4S variant at ₹1.39 crore, and lastly the Turbo variant that will set you back by ₹1.69 crore (all prices are ex-showroom). Porsche seems to be banking more on EVs here than with the Macan badge in the country.
