Superstar Rajinikanth's latest film, "Jailer," has taken the box office by storm, amassing an impressive Rs. 600 crore in worldwide collections. The enduring popularity of this Tamil icon transcends geographical boundaries, earning him the unwavering admiration of fans worldwide. In a gesture of celebration for the film's monumental success, Kalanithi Maran, the head of Sun Pictures, presented Rajinikanth with a lavish gift—a brand-new BMW X7 along with a share of the film's profits.
Sun Pictures expressed their jubilation on social media, sharing a post that documented the moment when Kalanithi Maran handed over the keys to a BMW X7, which Rajinikanth himself selected from a range of car models. The caption read, "#JailerSuccessCelebrations continue! Superstar @rajinikanth was shown various car models, and Mr. Kalanithi Maran presented the key to a brand new BMW X7, which the superstar chose.”
Additionally, during a visit to Rajinikanth's residence in Poes Garden, Chennai, Kalanithi Maran presented the superstar with an undisclosed amount in the form of a cheque. The BMW X7 gifted to Rajinikanth is a luxury vehicle with a price range of Rs. 1.22 crore to Rs. 1.25 crore, offering two variants: the xDrive40i M Sport and the XDrive40d M Sport.
The BMW X7 is offered in both petrol and diesel versions. In the case of the BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport, its 3.0-litre 6-cylinder in-line petrol engine generates 376 bhp and a peak torque of 520 Nm, available in the range of 1,800 to 5,000 rpm. This results in an acceleration of 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.8 seconds.
Meanwhile, the BMW X7 xDrive40d M Sport introduces a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder in-line diesel engine, a new addition, producing 335 bhp and a whopping 700 Nm of torque at 1,750 to 2,250 rpm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in a swift 5.9 seconds. Both engines also incorporate a 48V electrical motor, delivering 12 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, contributing to improved efficiency and dynamics. Both the powertrains are coupled to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission.
