Madhav Sheth has resigned from Realme and could soon join Honor India
Madhav Sheth, the former CEO of Realme India and later Vice President and President of realme International Business Group has announced his departure from the company. After five years of launching the brand, Sheth took to Twitter to share his decision and express gratitude to the Realme community.
During his tenure, Sheth played a pivotal role in establishing Realme as a prominent brand and leading it to success in the Indian smartphone market. Starting with the Realme 1 budget phone, which quickly became a top seller, he propelled the brand to a position among the top-five smartphone brands in the market.
In his Twitter post, Sheth confirmed that Realme founder Ski Li would assume leadership of the Realme India business moving forward. Although Sheth did not disclose his next career move, reports suggest that he may join Honor, formerly a sub-brand of Huawei, to lead and revive the brand's presence in the Indian market.
According to sources cited by ET Telecom, PSAV Global Tech Private Limited, Honor's partner in India, is in discussions with Sheth to launch Honor-branded smartphones. Based in Noida, PSAV Global currently distributes Honor devices such as laptops, tablets, and wearables across e-commerce platforms in India. With Sheth's extensive network and expertise, the plan is to establish sales operations for Honor smartphones both online and offline.
Sheth's departure marks the end of an era at Realme, as he bids farewell to the brand that became more than just a professional venture to him.
"realme has been an integral part of my life, a brand that was so much more than just an organization; it has been my home, my passion, and my purpose. I am proud of everything we accomplished together over the past five years, as we grew the brand and watched it proliferate," Sheth said in an open letter to Realme fans and the media.
