Free Repairs at Honda BigWing dealerships irrespective of warranty status
In a recent development, Honda India has issued a voluntary recall for its popular models, the Hness CB350 and CB350RS, citing safety concerns related to a faulty rear stop light switch. The company has taken measures to rectify the issue by offering free repairs at Honda BigWing dealerships, irrespective of the warranty status.
The recall affects units manufactured between October 2020 and January 2023. The identified problem lies in the rear stop light switch, where an improper manufacturing process for the rubber parts has led to the development of cracks. This, in turn, allows water entry and corrosion, ultimately causing the rear light to malfunction.
Owners of Honda H’ness CB350 and CB350 RS motorcycles falling within the specified manufacturing period are urged to take prompt action. To facilitate the recall process, customers can schedule appointments for the free repair, set to commence in the second week of December 2023.
In addition to the rear stop light switch issue, Honda has also issued a recall for a faulty bank angle sensor. The affected units, manufactured between October 2020 and December 2021, may experience a gap in the sensor body sealing due to an inappropriate moulding procedure of the sensor housing. This could lead to water entry and potential malfunctions, with a worst-case scenario being the stalling of the vehicle.
Honda advises owners to check if their motorcycles are within the affected manufacturing periods for both the rear stop light switch and the bank angle sensor. If so, it is strongly recommended to visit the nearest BigWing dealership for the necessary inspections and repairs.
