The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ ticks all the boxes for a top-tier smartphone in its price range.
The new Redmi Note phones have arrived in India. Over a decade since the first Redmi Phone launch in India, especially the Note series has carved a niche in the smartphone market by offering compelling features at aggressive prices, appealing to a wide range of users looking for value for their money. The latest in line, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, brings flagship-grade features to the mid-range segment.
When was the last time a Redmi phone stood out in a sea of similar-looking phones? Some might say it was the Redmi Note 7 series or even the Note 9. But this year, Xiaomi has gone aesthetic with the Redmi Note 13 Pro+. They're acing the design game and how!
The Fusion Purple variant has a nice vegan leather finish with a Mondrian pattern that looks subtle yet stylish and feels quite premium in the hand. The Black and White colour options have a glass back.
The 3D curved-edge front bezels make for a comfortable in-hand feel, while the textured back panel provides ample grip for one-handed use.
The Note 13 Pro+ gets a 3D Curved-edge AMOLED display. It is a first for the Redmi Note series, and I think it is the best display on a Redmi Note phone yet.
It's got stunning clarity and supports 68 billion colours with features such as Dolby Vision and HDR10+ playback. The company claims the display can touch 1800 nits peak brightness; of course, we'll know for sure after we test it in our full review, which drops soon. The screen has a 1.5K resolution and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
Headlining the triple camera array is a 200-megapixel primary camera that uses Samsung's 1/1.4" ISOCELL HP3 sensor and supports OIS for 4K (30fps) video recording. There's also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
My initial impressions about the primary camera are optimistic, as it seems to be adept at handling different lighting conditions. More on this in our full review soon.
The Note 13 Pro+ is powered by the Dimensity 7200 Ultra chip, promising lightning-fast speeds and power efficiency for daily use since it is made using a 4nm process.
Day-to-day tasks are handled easily, whether checking something out on Chrome or scrolling past your Instagram feed. A massive 4000 square millimetre stainless steel cooling system keeps the thermals in check while watching videos or gaming for hours on this phone.
We'll be checking out the performance of this phone in detail in our full review, so stay tuned for that. Apart from this, the phone runs MIUI 14, based on Android 13, and it will get three major Android updates and four years of security updates. The Note 13 Pro+ is also HyperOS ready. HyperOS is Xiaomi's upcoming new operating system with improved performance and many AI-backed features.
It's got a 5,000mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging. Redmi India claims that the phone can fully charge in 19 minutes.
Its powerhouse performance, stunning display, sleek design, robust software, and durability are ticking all the boxes for a top-tier smartphone in its price range. We’ll soon know whether it is the best Redmi Note phone or not.
