The aim is to cater to the sub-500 cc performance segment of motorcycles
Indian tyre makers have been stepping up their game for performance motorcycling enthusiasts with Reise Moto being another maker to launch its own line of radial tyres. Reise has called its new range TraceRad, keeping in line with its fascination of naming tyre ranges with the letter T.
Currently, Reise has only brought out a 110/70-R17 front and a 150/60-R17 rear option in the TraceRad series. The plan is to start offering these tyres for motorcycles such as the KTM 390 Duke, RC390, 250 Duke, Aprilia RS 457, TVS Apache RR 310, RTR 310 and others that use similar sized rubber. Over the course of the financial year, Reise also plans to bring in another front tyre option (perhaps a smaller 100- section) and two more options for the rear (140- and a 160- section).
The new radials bear the necessary set of requirements and have been made using state-of-the-art technologies. Hence, zero-degree steel belts, dual-radius construction, and a stiff carcass are to be found here. In fact, the tread pattern is very reminiscent of Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 or the Michelin Power Cup rubber.
Thankfully, one doesn't need to shell ridiculous amounts to get their hands on a pair. The front tyre costs a little over ₹5,199 while the rear retails for an additional thousand rupees. Hence, for less than ₹12,000 a pair of sticky radials seems like a good choice for the KTM 390 or Aprilia RS 457 owner. But are they any good? Check out our review.
