The Duster nameplate is making a comeback to the Indian market after being discontinued in 2022.
Renault has been working on the third generation Duster for a long time. Slated to make its debut on 26 January, the new Renault Duster is one of the most anticipated launches for 2026. The French carmaker is ensuring that the anticipation only rises as the launch nears. Hence, the company has released a new teaser of the upcoming Duster on its social media handles.
The video is part of a campaign that celebrates the legacy of the Renault Duster and reflects on the fact that it was the first C-segment compact SUV/crossover in India which is a rage today. Launched in 2012, the original Renault Duster played a key role in popularising the monocoque SUV configuration, blending car-like comfort with rugged capability.
Although the new-gen Renault Duster remains under the wraps in the latest social media post, at the end of the video, the rear end of the SUV is teased briefly. The partial glimpse of the vehicle reveals the connected LED stripe at the tailgate underscored by the new Renault Diamond logo. This is a significant revelation since the connected LED stripe is not present in the international-spec Dacia or Renault Duster.
Previous teasers and spy images have suggested a completely revamped front fascia featuring Y-shaped LED headlights, a grille that resembles a bull bar, and a sculpted hood. The India-spec model is also expected to receive different new alloy wheel designs. Other notable visual highlights include sharp wheel arches, conventional door handles, and additional features.
The upcoming Renault Duster is set to arrive with a wide range of contemporary features, including a 10-inch floating touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a premium six-speaker sound system.

International markets offer the third-generation Renault Duster with a range of powertrain options. These include a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine featuring a 48V mild-hybrid system that produces 128.2 hp, and a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid petrol setup with two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 138 hp. The line-up also includes a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG engine rated at 98.6 hp, paired with a six-speed transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. However, engine and transmission options for the India-spec model are yet to be revealed.
