Revolt has introduced a new entry-level electric motorcycle to its portfolio with the new RV1.
Revolt Motors has taken the wraps off its new entry-level offering, the RV1. Priced from ₹84,990 onwards, it is almost ₹20,000 more affordable than the Revolt RV400 BRZ variant which is priced at ₹1.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). So what makes the new Revolt RV1 more affordable than the rest of the line-up.
Variants And Battery Pack
The Revolt RV1 has been launched in two variants - RV1 and RV1+. The former is available with a swappable 2.2 kWh battery pack, while the RV1+, which is priced at ₹99,990, is available with a slightly bigger 3.24 kWh battery pack. The smaller battery is good for a 100 km range, and the bigger pack can help the electric motorcycle reach 160 km range on a single charge; both are claimed figures. As for its chargers, both the Revolt RV1 and RV1+ have a unique built-in-charger storage space, however, Revolt Motors hasn’t mentioned anything about the bike’s charger capacity – except for the fact that the RV1+ can be fully charged in just 1.5 hours.
Electric Motor
To keep costs under check, Revolt Motors has gone for a conventional chain drive system, instead of the belt-drive system that does duty in the RV400 and the RV400 BRZ. Either way, both the batteries are paired to a 2 kW electric motor, the torque output for which is again unspecified. So, from a performance point of view the new Revolt RV1 is ideal to navigate through the urban jungle. Additionally, Revolt Motors claims that both the RV1 and RV1+ can carry a payload of 250 kg.
Ergonomics
On the ergonomics front, the Revolt RV1 has a seat height of 790 mm, which makes it quite the accessible electric motorcycle. Along with that, the seat has also been redesigned, and it is longer than the seat found in the RV400.
Aesthetic And Features
On the aesthetic front, the new Revolt RV1 has quite the retro appeal. This is courtesy the round headlamp design which houses the LED headlight, and the tapered tail design finishes off with an oval-shaped tail light. On the features front, the Revolt RV1 features a 6-inch LCD display console. Given its cost structure, there are no connectivity option available with this console.
Suspension And Brakes
The underpinnings are different with telescopic fork at the front, and twin-shock absorber at the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by a disc brake at both ends.
Deliveries And Competition
Price under ₹1 lakh, the newly launched Revolt RV1 is now quite the competitive offering in the electric two-wheeler space. Especially given how different manufacturers like Ola Electric are coming up with new products to populate the electric motorcycle space. Bookings for the bike have commenced today at just ₹499, and deliveries will commence across India in the next 10 days.
