River Indie e-Scooter Prices Hiked By ₹ 13,000; Bookings Reopen

River has announced a revised price and reopened bookings for its scooter. Launched last year at ₹1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), it now bears a premium of ₹13,000 . This offer is exclusive to the first 1,000 customers from Bengaluru. Expect prices to rise further post the next 1000 units are sold off. Despite the significant cut in last year's FAME II subsidy, which was expected to increase electric scooter prices substantially, the company has not hiked the prices dramatically.

The River Indie is equipped with a 4 kWh battery pack and a 6.7 kW electric motor, providing a torque of 26 Nm. It boasts a top speed of 90 kmph and claims a range of 120 km on a single charge. Charging to 80 percent takes approximately 5 hours with a standard charge.

The River Indie features a square twin-beam LED headlight in the front apron. It includes hard mounts for panniers on the sides. It is equipped with foot pegs for the front rider and crash guards extending from the front apron. The flat floor and wide seat contribute to its functional design.

River had previously stopped bookings for the Indie last year after the initial lot of orders. Other interested buyers were able to join a waitlist till bookings reopened. The booking amount now is set at ₹2,500. Currently, the Indie is available exclusively to buyers in Bengaluru, but the company plans to extend its availability to other cities in the coming months. The company has recently opened its inaugural retail store in Bengaluru.
