Rolls-Royce delivers the first Spectre EV in India to a customer in Chennai.
Rolls-Royce has discreetly delivered its first all-electric Spectre in India. Although the Spectre was unveiled globally last year, it has yet to be officially launched in India. The delivery of the first unit, priced at Rs. 9 crore (ex-showroom), signals a soft introduction of this cutting-edge electric luxury sedan to the Indian market.
Images shared on Instagram by Automobili Ardent capture the Spectre's discreet arrival in Chennai. The sedan is seen emerging from an enclosed trailer, showcasing its sleek design. Another image reveals the Spectre with its bonnet and right front door open, offering a glimpse of its interior. A third image shows the Spectre securely nestled within the trailer, highlighting the careful handling of this high-profile arrival.
A subsequent image suggests the Spectre's mode of transportation, with straps on its front door indicating a possible cargo plane landing in Chennai. The identity of the owner remains undisclosed, leaving room for speculation about the first owner of this luxurious all-electric model.
The Spectre exemplifies Rolls-Royce's venture into the electric era, featuring a distinctive illuminated grille, redesigned Spirit of Ecstasy figure, and all-LED headlights with DRLs. Notably, it stands as the first Rolls-Royce model to sport 23-inch alloy wheels, breaking new ground in the brand's design elements.
The rear profile, reminiscent of the Wraith, displays a sleek and sharply slanted roof design, complemented by minimalistic LED tail lights. Inside, the Spectre maintains the Rolls-Royce tradition of craftsmanship, boasting leather and wooden inlays with metal accessories. The introduction of Starlight Doors, featuring illuminated stars, and an illuminated dashboard add to the opulence of the interior.
Under the hood, the Spectre hosts two BMW eDrive permanently excited synchronous motors, delivering 577 hp and 900 Nm of torque. With an estimated range of around 418 km, the Spectre combines performance with sustainability, marking a significant milestone in Rolls-Royce's pursuit of electric luxury.
