Rolls-Royce Unveils Phantom Centenary Collection, Celebrates A Century Of Luxury Mastered

In a grand homage to automotive opulence, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has revealed the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, a limited-edition masterpiece marking 100 years since the debut of the iconic Phantom I in 1925. 

Capped at just 25 units worldwide, this extraordinary creation, hailed as the brand's most intricate and technologically daring endeavour, embodies over 40,000 man-hours of craftsmanship across three years of development. Priced from a whisper-inducing £573,000, it transforms the Phantom into a veritable rolling gallery of history, artistry, and unbridled ambition.

Tracing its lineage to the original "Seagull" codenamed Phantom I, the collection weaves in threads from Rolls-Royce's storied past: nods to Henry Royce's sun-drenched sketches of the French Riviera, the marque's storied Conduit Street origins in London, and pivotal moments like the 2003 revival (codenamed "Roger Rabbit"). 

Each bespoke Phantom serves as a narrative tapestry, celebrating the sedan's evolution from chauffeur-driven elegance to modern marvel of serenity.

Visually arresting, the exterior gleams with a bespoke Arctic White and Black two-tone finish, laced with iridescent crushed glass particles for a ethereal shimmer under sunlight. 

Atop the bonnet perches a solid 18-carat gold Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, hand-plated in 24-carat gold for eternal lustre, set against a hand-poured white enamel plinth etched with "Phantom Centenary" script. Four gold-and-enamel badges adorn the flanks, while 21-inch disc wheels bear 25 radial engravings honouring the run of 25 cars.

Inside, the Centenary elevates extravagance to sublime art. Rear compartment seats, clad in sumptuous fabric (echoing early Phantom traditions), unfurl a triptych masterpiece: a base layer of high-res prints depicting historic locales and artefacts; a mid-layer of ethereal line drawings of past Phantoms; and a crowning embroidered veil abstracting seven legendary owners across generations: over 160,000 stitches in a labour spanning a year. 

Front seats whisper secrets via laser-etched vignettes of the "Seagull" blueprint and a playful rabbit motif. Door panels in Blackwood veneer dazzle with laser-etched cartography, 3D ink strata, multi-axis marquetry, and gold-leafed "roads" unique to each car. 

The Starlight Headliner animates with 440,000 embroidered fibres recreating Phantom lore, while picnic tables bear engravings of the 1925 Phantom I and its eighth iteration. Even the 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12's cover gleams in Arctic White with gold flourishes, powering 563bhp in whisper-quiet repose.

With deliveries slated for late 2026, it reaffirms the Phantom's throne as the zenith of luxury where history meets the horizon, one bespoke stitch at a time.
