The image of the Bullet undergoing tests was clicked at the Pokhran field range
Royal Enfield and the armed forces have shared a very special relationship for decades now. It all started with the Royal Enfield Bullet being used for patrolling on the India-Pakistan border and later, many officers picked up the Bullet as their preferred choice of mobility. However, the most popular collaboration has to be the show put up by the display team of Indian Army's Signal Corps motorcyclists known as the "Daredevils". From jaw-dropping acrobats to incredible stunts, the Daredevils are among the most anticipated spectacles at the Republic Day Parade.
The most recent collaboration is a bit more serious by any means. An image has been released by the army in which a Royal Enfield Bullet has been used as a launch platform for the Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) system. The pic of the missile being fired was from the Pokhran field range and it has led to a lot of buzz and speculations online. Employing a motorcycle for ATGM has lots of benefits as it offers improved mobility, very quick deployment and also helps with logistics. The Royal Enfield Bullet ATGM can also be easily used on rough terrains and will help the armed forces in ambush scenarios to take the enemy by surprise.
The above spotting also showcases the innovative approach of the Indian Army for future battles and new tactics being employed. Whether or not the Royal Enfield Bullet ATGM will be pursued actively by the Indian Army or if it was just for experimental purposes remains to be seen, but the above platform looks very intriguing and interesting.
