The Royal Enfield Classic 650 has been spotted undergoing testing yet again, this time with a rider and pillion on board. The motorcycle will serve as the elder cousin of the iconic Classic 350, featuring a round headlight, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, chrome accents, and a split seat. A signature touch is the addition of dual peashooter exhaust pipes on either side.
The test mule also reveals some interesting details. The headlamp borrows the LED unit from other 650cc models but incorporates the ‘topi’ nacelle from the Classic 350. It's flanked by halogen pilot lamps.
Powering the Classic 650 will be the 648 cc, parallel-twin engine found on the brand's other 650cc offerings. This engine produces 47 bhp and 52 Nm, perfect for highway cruising, all while delivering a distinct rumble. This can be heard in the video which creates an excitement as it delivers a different tune to the parallel-twin experience.
While some of the newly launched 650 cc Royal Enfields have USD fork, the Classic 650 will see conventional telescopic fork for a more budget-friendly approach. The rear suspension will be handled by twin shocks. Braking duties will be managed by disc brakes at both ends, with dual-channel ABS for added safety. Classic spoke wheels wrapped in tube tyres complete the look, although we can expect certain alloy wheel variants as well.
With these frequent test sightings, a launch for the Royal Enfield Classic 650 sometime this year. The Classic 650 is expected to be priced around ₹ 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom), slotting in between the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650.
