Flying Flea will be Royal Enfield’s sub-brand that will focus on electric motorcycles only.
Royal Enfield pulled quite the surprise at last year’s EICMA motorcycle show when it ushered in its first all-electric bike under its all-electric sub-brand, Flying Flea. Not only did the bike boast that authentically retro-roadster style that we fondly associate with the brand, but it also felt like a proper homage to its legacy in a much better, modern avatar. Now RE is all set to showcase the Flying Flea C6 in India tomorrow, and here’s what you should expect:
The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 is built around a completely new frame made out of aluminium that helps keep its weight under check. Drawing inspiration from its World War II namesake, the bike features a distinctive compact design and the weight of the bike was speculated at the time of launch would be around approximately 100 kg. Moreover, the all-new Electrik01 ‘L’ Platform is scalable, so future RE electric bikes will share the same.
The Flying Flea C6's most notable feature is its unique girder fork suspension system. This makes it the only production electric bike to use this suspension, raising the sophistication bar of the bike. At the back, the bike features a mono-shock.
The motorcycle's power unit is housed within a finned battery chamber, similar to the one found on Harley-Davidson LiveWire models. Whilst specific battery details remain under wraps, Royal Enfield aims for a city-focused range of about 160 km. The bike can be charged through standard domestic power outlets and is expected to reach speeds up to 115 kmph.
The Flying Flea C6 showcases Royal Enfield's technological advancement with a touchscreen TFT display, featuring proprietary software covered by 28 new patents. The motorcycle has sophisticated electronics, including cornering ABS, traction control and cruise control. Perhaps most impressively, riders can access over 2 lakh customisable riding modes. Lastly, RE has also partnered with Qualcomm Technologies to integrate Car-To-Cloud and other connectivity features.
The Flying Flea C6 marks Royal Enfield's entry into the electric motorcycle segment, with sales scheduled to begin in 2026. It will be followed by the S6 variant, which will be sold shortly afterwards, establishing Royal Enfield's presence in the growing electric two-wheeler market.
