The entry-level adventure bike from Royal Enfield has faced mechanical issues owing to which deliveries and bookings were halted.
The Royal Enfield Scram 440 was showcased with much fanfare at the 2024 Motoverse in Goa last year and made its debut in early 2025 at ₹2.08 lakh (ex-showroom). But ever since then we didn’t spot any bikes on sale and it was later revealed that there had been some mechanical issues with the bike owing to which sales, deliveries and bookings for the adventure motorcycle were stalled. However, the company has confirmed that deliveries for the Royal Enfield Scram 440 have started and so have bookings for the same.

There was an issue with the magneto, which resulted in the bike not restarting, and the company claims to have fixed this issue in the new batch of the motorcycle. The Royal Enfield Scram 440 is an evolved version of the Scram 411, and as the name suggests, gets a larger displacement engine and a 6-speed gearbox. Both the updates were made to make it more touring-friendly as its predecessor struggled at highway speeds, thereby limiting its appeal. Other additions included an LED headlight, revised braking hardware and also switchable ABS.
The 2025 Royal Enfield Scram 440 is offered in two variants: Trail and Force. The Scram 440 Trail is priced at ₹2.08 lakh, while the latter costs ₹2.15 lakh (both ex-showroom price, Delhi). The key difference between the two is in hardware setup. The base trim is equipped with spoke wheels and with just two colour options – Blue and Green. The top trim gets alloy wheels as standard and three colour options – Blue, Grey and Teal. The Scram 440 competes against the 2025 Yezdi Adventure, KTM 250 Adventure and the Suzuki V-Strom. It will be interesting to see whether consumers will show their trust in the new Scram 440 as mechanical issues on its debut and halting of deliveries doesn’t instill much confidence in consumers.
