Five reasons that make the RE Shotgun unique.
Royal Enfield has unveiled the Shotgun Twin 650 custom motorcycle at the RE Motoverse in Goa. The Bobber-style motorcycle is based on the SG650 concept first showcased at EICMA 2021. Here are five key highlights of the most exclusive Royal Enfield production bike.
RE Shotgun 650 draws inspiration from the SG650 concept. The tank exhibits a beautiful fade from dark blue to a lighter tint, while the stickers contribute to a pixel-like feel, adding a modern touch. There is a glitter overcoat on the paint that gives it a candy gloss finish. What makes this paint scheme so unique is that it has been hand-painted as the fade effect requires a lot of precision.
Royal Enfield has changed the ergonomics with a flat handlebar and a single floating seat, along with backward-repositioned footpegs. This results in, providing a riding stance where the rider sits upright with the head, tailbone, and foot nearly in a straight line. This also lets the hands naturally rest onto the handlebars making it comfortable. This is complemented by a redesigned headlight cowl, chopped fenders and repositioned instrument cluster. The bar end mirrors enhance the handlebar's look, contributing to the overall bobber feel.
The Royal Enfield Shotgun Twin 650 has a sharper rake compared to the Super Meteor 650, complemented by smaller 10-spoke alloys that seamlessly align with the bobber style. The tyres on this bike differ from those on the Super Meteor as well. Together, the sharper rake and smaller wheels contribute to a low stance, characteristic of a true bobber-style motorcycle.
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 features a gloss black-painted engine crankcase and different Royal Enfield logo, distinguishing it from the rest of the engine components finished in matte black, consistent with other 650 twins of 2023. The bike is equipped with twin peashooter exhausts, which is inspired from Royal Enfield Classic.
Royal Enfield has announced that only 25 units of this bike will be available, significantly enhancing its collector's value. The bike is priced at ₹ 4.25 lakhs from Royal Enfield and the inclusion of a lucky draw system for bike allotment adds an extra layer of anticipation. While immediate appreciation in value post-purchase is uncertain, the basic economic principle of low supply and high demand suggests that it is poised to retain its value in the second-hand market, akin to some of the rare Royal Enfield special edition bikes.
