Samsung has officially launched its latest mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 in India following their global debut earlier this week. The new A-series phones pack impressive hardware and premium designs at relatively affordable prices, making them compelling options in India's fiercely competitive mid-range market.
Samsung Galaxy A55
The Galaxy A55 and A35 feature a 6.6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED displays with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and HDR support. However, the A55 gets the upper hand with Corning's latest Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on the front and rear glass panels, while the A35 only gets it on the front.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A55 is powered by the Exynos 1480 chipset built on a 5nm process, with up to 12GB of RAM. The Galaxy A35 settles for last year's Exynos 1380 chip and is offered with up to 8GB RAM. Both phones provide up to 256GB of onboard storage that can be expanded to 1TB via microSD card.
Samsung Galaxy A35
In the camera department, the Galaxy A55 gets a triple rear setup headlined by a 50MP primary shooter with OIS, joined by a 12MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro unit. The A35's camera system is similar, except it downgrades to an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Selfie cameras are rated at 32MP and 13MP on the A55 and A35, respectively.
Both phones have a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. Other features include IP67 dust/water resistance, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and Samsung's security features like Knox Vault.
Samsung promises up to four years of Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches for the Galaxy A55 and A35.
The Galaxy A55 starts at Rs 39,999 for the 8GB/128GB version and goes up to Rs 45,999 for the top-end 12GB/256GB model. The Galaxy A35 is priced at Rs 30,999 for 8GB/128GB and Rs 33,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant. Both phones are now available to purchase across Samsung's online and offline sales channels.
