SanDisk has unveiled the SanDisk Desk Drive desktop SSD in India. The SanDisk Desk Drive aims to provide a reliable, high-speed storage solution for professionals and content creators.
The SanDisk Desk Drive is now available in India in two capacities: 4TB, priced at ₹39,999, and 8TB, priced at ₹72,999. These substantial storage options are designed to accommodate large collections of high-resolution photos, videos, music, and documents.
One of the key selling points of the new drive is its speed. SanDisk claims the Desk Drive is up to four times faster than traditional desktop hard disk drives (HDDs), with read speeds reaching up to 1,000 MB/s. This performance boost is particularly beneficial for professionals working with large files such as 8K videos, CAD files, or 3D renders.
The drive's design has already garnered recognition, winning a 2024 Red Dot Design Award. Its compact, modern style maximises desk space while blending seamlessly into professional or home office settings.
Thanks to its exFAT formatting, the drive works out of the box with both Windows and macOS operating systems. It also comes with a USB Type-C cable for easy connectivity.
The Desk Drive offers robust backup options, is compatible with Apple Time Machine for Mac users and includes downloadable Acronis True Image for Western Digital backup software for automated backups.
SanDisk offers pre-order bonuses exclusively through the Western Digital E-store to sweeten the deal. Customers who pre-order the 8TB model will receive a free 1TB SanDisk Portable SSD, while those opting for the 4TB version will get a free 512GB SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe USB Type-C.
The SanDisk Desk Drive comes with a three-year limited warranty. It is available at the Western Digital Store and authorised SanDisk retailers, e-tailers, and distributors across India.
