The equipment manufacturer hands over 20 heavy-duty electric trucks to logistics firm.
Sany India has delivered its first batch of 20 heavy-duty electric trucks to SG Green Logistics marking the company's entry into India's commercial vehicle sector. The handover represents SANY's debut in electric trucking within the Indian market, with the vehicles designed to address range limitations that have challenged electric commercial transport.
Utkarsh Jain, Managing Director of SG Green, noted that the high-capacity electric trucks enable longer routes than competitors currently offer in India. The delivery ceremony was conducted by Deepak Garg, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of SANY India, alongside Anurag Dubey, Senior Vice President and Business Unit Head for Heavy Duty Trucks Business. Senior management from both companies attended the handover.
SANY India says the electric truck initiative represents part of its commitment to cleaner transport solutions within the logistics sector. The Chinese equipment manufacturer's move into India's electric commercial vehicle market comes as the country pushes for greater adoption of alternative fuel vehicles in freight transport.
