Netflix has unveiled the debut trailer for its acclaimed F1 documentary series, "Drive To Survive", now in its sixth season. The series has significantly contributed to the sport's burgeoning popularity, particularly in the US, accounting for nearly 50% of the new F1 audience. This explains the current presence of three races in the United States — Austin, Miami, and Vegas.
The forthcoming season promises to guide viewers through the behind-the-scenes of the 2023 season, which culminated in December with Max Verstappen's triumphant third world championship win and Red Bull's record-breaking success, winning 21 out of 22 races - the most successful streak for a team in F1's annual history. The new season will be released on Netflix on February 23, just one week prior to the inaugural race of the 2024 season and coinciding with the conclusion of the pre-season tests.

The series is the work of James Gay-Rees, a producer renowned for his Academy Award-winning documentaries such as 'Senna', a film about the iconic F1 driver Ayrton Senna. Additionally, executive producer Paul Martin, known for the 'Diego Maradona' documentary, plays a key role. This production is a continuation of the successful collaboration with Box-to-Box Films, which began developing the series in 2017 after Liberty Media acquired F1.
F1 commentators Will Buxton and Jack Nicholls will narrate the documentary. Although the previous season was dominated by Red Bull, there are several intriguing narratives to anticipate. Notably, the return of fan-favourite driver Daniel Ricciardo to F1 with AlphaTauri, Carlos Sainz Jr's triumphant victory in Singapore with Ferrari - the only win not claimed by Red Bull, and the dramatic competition between Sainz, Mercedes and McLaren.
The documentary may also cover Lewis Hamilton's surprising shift to Ferrari in 2025 towards its conclusion. Additionally, Fernando Alonso's resurgence with Aston Martin and the unexpected departure of popular Haas team principal Guenther Steiner could also be featured.
