The Managing Director of Tata Motors served as the Vice President of the automobile manufacturer's body since 2022.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Passenger Vehicles Ltd and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, has been appointed as the new President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) for 2024-25.
Prior to his appointment as the President, Chandra served as the vice president of the apex body that represents the country's leading automobile manufacturers. Chandra replaces Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director & CEO, Volvo Eicher Commerical Vehicles, who held the position since 2022.
Shenu Agarwal, MD & CEO, Ashok Leyland Ltd will replace the role Chandra held since 2022, and serve as the new Vice-President of the automotive body. Satyakam Arya, CEO & MD, of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, has been elected as the Treasurer of SIAM for 2024-25.
