The Elroq will be Skoda’s first model to use its Modern Solid design language.
Skoda Auto has revealed camouflaged images of its upcoming compact electric SUV, the Elroq. Alongside, the Czech manufacturer has also announced various features and specifications of the electric SUV.
Like all upcoming Skoda models, the images show the Elroq under heavy camouflage. However, it does hint at multiple design elements of the upcoming e-SUV. The Elroq will be the brand’s first model to be entirely based on the modern solid design. The images also reveal the Elroq will get a split headlamp setup with LED Matrix lights at the bottom and thin LED DRLs on top. And like the Vision 7S Concept, the Elroq will get Skoda lettering on the bonnet, instead of the brand’s logo.
In profile, the Elroq can be seen with a 5-spoke alloy wheel design and a very Skoda-like silhouette. At the back, the taillamp cluster seems very similar to the Enyaq with C-shaped lighting signatures. However, unlike the Enyaq, the number plate is mounted higher up in the tailgate.
While Skoda hasn’t revealed the interior of the Elroq, it did mention the upcoming e-SUV will get a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display. Skoda also mentioned that the cabin of the Elroq will use recycled and recyclable materials. It will also come with a remote parking assist and a variety of safety features as well as ADAS. Skoda will also give customers a QR code that allows them to have an overview of the features of the car.
The Elroq will offer 470 litres of boot space that can be increased to 1,580 litres with the rear seats folded down. Furthermore, there will be additional cubby holes measuring 48 litres. The boot will also give a new pocket for storing the charging cable and an adjustable parcel tray.
There will be four powertrain options on offer with the Elroq. The Elroq 50 has a 55 kWh battery pack and a 168 bhp electric motor on the rear axle. The Elroq 60 packs a 63 kWh battery with a 201 bhp e-motor and rear-wheel drive configuration. The Elroq 85 and 85x get an 82 kWh battery and while the former has a 282 bhp e-motor on the rear axle, the latter produces 295 bhp from its all-wheel drive configuration.
Skoda claims the Elroq will have a range of more than 560 km on a single charge. While Skoda hasn’t mentioned the fast charging support specifications, it said all variants can be charged from 10 - 80 per cent in less than 28 minutes. With an 11 kW wall box charger, the Elroq can take up to 8 hours to charge fully.
The Elroq is expected to make its global debut later this year and as of now, there is no confirmation if the compact e-SUV will make its way to India.
