Skoda Octavia RS Facelift

Customer deliveries of the Skoda Octavia RS are scheduled to commence on November 6, 2025

The Skoda Octavia RS has made a spectacular comeback to India, selling out in just 20 minutes through pre-bookings. Priced at ₹49.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the iconic performance sedan has reaffirmed its cult status among driving enthusiasts, with all 100 units allocated for the Indian market snapped up ahead of its official launch on October 17, 2025.

Pre-bookings for the Octavia RS opened on October 6, 2025, with a token amount of Rs 2.5 lakh. The response was nothing short of phenomenal, with all units selling out within 20 minutes, translating to one booking every 12 seconds. According to Ashish Gupta, Brand Director at Skoda Auto India, the overwhelming response has reinforced the RS badge's emotional connection with customers and its cult following globally.

At the heart of the Octavia RS lies a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine producing 261 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. Paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, the performance sedan accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 6.4 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. The car features advanced chassis setup, progressive steering, and sports suspension for precise handling dynamics.

At Rs 49.99 lakh, the Skoda Octavia RS positions itself uniquely in the Indian performance car segment. Its closest rival, the Volkswagen Golf GTI—which shares the same 2.0-litre TSI engine—is priced at Rs 50.91 lakh (ex-showroom). The Golf GTI also saw remarkable success, with its first batch of 150 units selling out even before prices were announced.

The Mini Cooper S, another competitor in this segment, is priced between Rs 43.70 lakh and Rs 54.40 lakh, while the upcoming Honda Civic Type R is expected to be priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 60 lakh. Notably, the Octavia RS is the only true performance sedan in this price bracket, with rivals like the Golf GTI and Mini Cooper S being hatchbacks.

The Octavia RS features distinctive styling with 19-inch Elias anthracite alloy wheels, full LED Matrix headlights, LED tail lamps with dynamic indicators, and glossy black styling elements. The car is available in five striking colours: Mamba Green, Candy White, Race Blue, Magic Black, and Velvet Red.

Inside, the cabin showcases Suedia/Leather upholstery with red contrast stitching, sports front seats with electric adjustment, memory, heating, and massage functions. The car is equipped with a 32.77cm (12.9-inch) infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, three-zone climate control, and a virtual cockpit.

The Octavia RS comes loaded with advanced safety features, including 10 airbags, a comprehensive ADAS suite with Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Assist, and Intelligent Park Assist. Additional features include a 360-degree Area View camera, Head-Up Display, and a premium Canton 675W 11-speaker sound system with subwoofer.

Customer deliveries of the Skoda Octavia RS are scheduled to commence on November 6, 2025. The car comes as a Fully Built Unit (FBU) imported from the Czech Republic.

The Octavia RS holds special significance in India's automotive history, having first arrived in 2004 as the country's first-ever turbocharged petrol engine passenger car. With its latest return, Skoda celebrates 25 years in India, bringing together legacy, innovation, and pure performance. The car is backed by Skoda Auto India's 4-year/100,000 km warranty and 4-year complimentary Road-Side Assistance.
