Both cameras feature compact and lightweight bodies and aim to deliver stellar imaging performance.
Sony has unveiled two new additions to their popular Alpha 7C series of full-frame mirrorless cameras - the Alpha 7C II and the Alpha 7CR in India. Both cameras feature compact and lightweight bodies and aim to deliver stellar imaging performance for photos and videos.
The Alpha 7C II succeeds the original Alpha 7C with a 33MP full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor and upgraded BIONZ XR image processor, improving speed and image quality. Despite having a larger sensor, the 7C II retains the compact form factor of its predecessor and weighs only 514g. It also offers advanced autofocus and image stabilization capabilities and can shoot high-quality 4K/60p videos with Sony's cinematic colour science.
The 61MP Alpha 7CR has a similar 61MP sensor as the flagship Alpha 7R V in the same compact body weighing just 515g. It forgoes the highest speed capabilities of the 7R V but brings industry-leading resolution to a remarkably portable package. Pixel shift multi-shot mode can synthesize images with even more detail. The 7CR also has 7-stop in-body stabilization and supports 10-bit 4K/30p video.
Both new models contain AI-based autofocus that can accurately track birds, insects, vehicles and other subjects. They also offer a vari-angle touchscreen, 5-axis stabilization, 14+ stop S-log shooting and advanced connectivity options.
According to Sony, the Alpha 7C II and 7CR aim to provide creators with high image quality and mobility to capture a wide range of scenes and subjects easily. Their compact size yet full-frame quality nicely balances portability and performance.
The Alpha 7C II body retails for ₹2,14,990 and ₹2,43,990 with a 28-60mm kit lens. It will be available in black and silver colours starting November 3.
