Filosa will assume full CEO responsibilities on June 23, 2025.
In a significant leadership shift, Stellantis has announced the appointment of Antonio Filosa as its new Chief Executive Officer. The decision, which was reached unanimously by the company’s Board of Directors, follows a comprehensive search process evaluating both internal and external candidates. The search was overseen by a Special Committee of the Board, led by Executive Chairman John Elkann.

Filosa will assume full CEO responsibilities on June 23, 2025, with the Board granting him the necessary powers ahead of his formal appointment to the Board as an executive director. An Extraordinary Shareholder Meeting is set to be convened in the coming days to formalise his election to the Board.
The Board cited Filosa’s extensive global experience and consistent track record within the automotive industry as central to his selection. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, Filosa has held various leadership roles across Stellantis and its predecessor companies, earning recognition for his strategic insight and operational execution.

During his tenure as Chief Operating Officer for South America, Filosa led a major turnaround for the company in the region. Under his leadership, the FIAT brand regained market leadership, while brands such as Peugeot, Citroën, Ram, and Jeep posted strong growth. His role in developing the Pernambuco facility in Brazil — now one of South America's largest automotive hubs — was instrumental in establishing Jeep’s production footprint in the region. Jeep’s success in Brazil, under his direction, positioned the country as the brand’s top-performing market outside the United States.
Most recently, Filosa served as Chief Operating Officer for the Americas, a role he assumed in December 2024. In that short time, he initiated several key reforms, including reducing excess dealer inventory in the U.S., reorganising the regional leadership structure, accelerating new product and powertrain launches, and enhancing relations with key stakeholders such as dealers, unions, and suppliers.
As Jeep’s global CEO, Filosa also pushed for greater international expansion. His efforts contributed to the popularity of the Jeep Avenger in Europe, which remains one of the company's top-performing models in the region.
John Elkann will remain in his position as Executive Chairman as Filosa steps into the CEO role. Following his formal start, Filosa is expected to announce a newly formed leadership team to guide Stellantis through its next phase of global operations.
