Pre-book the Svitch CSR 762 e-bike for ₹1, featuring 120 kmph top speed with a 190 km range on a single charge.
Svitch MotoCorp Pvt Ltd, an electric bicycle manufacturer in India, has launched the CSR 762, an electric motorcycle priced at ₹ 1,89,999 (ex-showroom). The CSR 762 is the company's entry into the electric motorcycle segment, featuring a design inspired by a Cyberpunk theme.
The motorcycle incorporates a 40 litre luggage space, replacing the traditional fuel tank with two smaller removable battery packs. A cavity on the "fuel tank" allows users to place a smartphone for navigation. Additional battery packs can be carried for an extended range. The air-cooling setup, due to the removable batteries, replaces the need for liquid-cooling. Colour options include Scarlette Red, Molten Mercury (Silver), and Black Diamond.
The mid-mounted motor generates 56 Nm without reduction, with a nominal power of 3 kW (4 bhp) and a peak power of 10 kW (13.4 bhp). The electric motorcycle has a kerb weight of 155 kg. Connected to the rear wheels via a chain drive, the Svitch CSR 762 boasts a top speed of 120 kmph and a range of 190 km on a single charge. The battery has a capacity of 3.6 kWh. Notably, the brochure lists different numbers for top speed (110 kmph) and maximum range (160 km).
It features a tubular skeleton frame supported by a telescopic fork and a mono-shock. It is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, with 110/80 front and 140/70 rear tyres. The braking system includes 300 mm front and 280 mm rear disc brakes.
The Svitch CSR 762 e-bike features a 5-inch TFT display and the bike has five riding modes. First in class to have a 40 litre storage in front for a full face helmet. Svitch has started a campaign to gauge interest in their electric motorcycles. They plan to open dealerships in cities like Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. While they are currently accepting expressions of interest (EOIs), they will decide on the specific dealership locations once they receive about 100,000 EOIs before March 31, 2024.
