This advanced testing centre becomes the second engineering facility established through the Tata Elxsi–Suzuki collaboration.
Indian engineering services firm Tata Elxsi and Japanese automaker Suzuki have officially opened the 'Suzuki-Tata Elxsi Cloud HIL Centre' in Trivandrum, marking a significant milestone in automotive testing technology. The groundbreaking facility represents Suzuki's inaugural full-vehicle cloud-enabled Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation centre globally.
This advanced testing centre becomes the second engineering facility established through the Tata Elxsi–Suzuki collaboration, building upon the existing Offshore Development Centre (ODC) previously established in Pune. The expansion demonstrates the deepening partnership between the two companies in automotive innovation.
The newly launched Cloud HIL Centre features cutting-edge engineering designed for comprehensive early-stage, full-vehicle simulation and validation through cloud-native infrastructure. The facility's advanced capabilities allow Suzuki's development and testing teams to access HIL infrastructure remotely, complete with integrated Electronic Control Units (ECUs). This innovation significantly reduces dependency on physical prototypes while accelerating validation processes across the company's global research and development centres.
The centre's development aligns strategically with Suzuki's roadmap for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), supporting the automotive industry's transformation toward software-led, scalable development approaches.
"Purpose-built to support this transformation, the facility integrates Tata Elxsi's domain expertise in automotive Verification and Validation (V&V), test automation, and simulation, enabling transformative advancements in development speed, quality, and future readiness," Tata Elxsi announced.
The Cloud HIL Centre serves as a cornerstone within Suzuki's comprehensive global "SDV Right" strategy for Electrical and Electronic (E/E) Virtual Development. The facility is designed to deliver continuous integration capabilities, accelerated release cycles, and enhanced system reliability across Suzuki's development operations.
Katsuhiro Kato, Director and Executive Vice President of Suzuki, said in a statement: “The SUZUKI-TATA ELXSI Cloud HIL Center is a new base that leverages Tata Elxsi's expertise and deep experience to build an advanced and efficient development system. We hope that Suzuki will promote virtualisation to realise minimisation of energy and contribute to the development of next-generation mobility significantly."
