Tata Harrier, Safari Petrol Prices Announced

Tata Motors has finally announced prices for the Harrier and Safari petrol variants. Until now, both mid-size SUVs were only available with a diesel engine option. The addition of a petrol engine option not only lowers the price barrier but also lets Tata tap into a new set of buyers who are only looking to buy a gasoline SUV.

Tata Harrier, Safari Petrol Prices

Prices for the petrol-powered Tata Harrier start from ₹12.89 lakh and go up to ₹24.69 lakh. The most affordable petrol automatic variant of the Harrier is the Pure X trim priced at ₹17.53 lakh, whereas the most expensive manual variant is the Fearless Ultra Red Dark edition priced at ₹23.27 lakh. Meanwhile, the diesel variants of Tata Harrier are priced between ₹14 lakh and ₹25.25 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

On the other hand, prices for the petrol-powered Tata Safari start from ₹13.29 lakh and go up to ₹25.20 lakh. The most affordable petrol automatic variant of the Safari is the Pure X trim priced at ₹17.91 lakh, whereas the most expensive manual variant is the 6-seater Accomplished Ultra Red Dark edition priced at ₹23.78 lakh. Meanwhile, the diesel variants of Tata Safari are priced between ₹14.66 lakh and ₹25.96 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).

Tata Harrier, Safari Petrol Engine Specs

Powering the petrol variants of Tata Harrier and Safari is a new 1.5-litre turbocharged direct injection motor which made its debut in the recently-launched Tata Sierra. In the Safari and Harrier, this engine is tuned to produce 168 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque – 10 bhp and 25Nm more than the Sierra. Power is sent to the front wheels, and the engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
