In September 2025, the Nexon achieved a significant milestone by becoming India's best-selling car, surpassing 22,500 units in monthly sales—the highest figure ever recorded for any single Tata model.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has updated its Nexon lineup with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, reinforcing its position in India's competitive compact SUV segment. The move comes just weeks before the scheduled November 4 launch of the new-gen Hyundai Venue, which will also feature ADAS technology.

The Nexon was the first car in India to receive a 5-star safety rating and remains the only SUV with dual 5-star ratings from both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP. The newly added ADAS suite includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, High Beam Assist and Lane Departure Warning. These features are available exclusively on the top-spec Fearless Plus PS variant paired with the turbo-petrol DCT powertrain.

In September 2025, the Nexon achieved a significant milestone by becoming India's best-selling car, surpassing 22,500 units in monthly sales—the highest figure ever recorded for any single Tata model. This 97 per cent year-on-year growth solidified the Nexon's dominance in the sub-4 metre SUV segment.

To celebrate this success, Tata Motors has introduced the exclusive Red Dark edition, featuring an all-black exterior with red accents, ventilated red leatherette seats and a sporty red-and-black cabin theme. The Red Dark edition is available across petrol, diesel and CNG powertrains, marking the first time the unique colour scheme has been offered with CNG.

Several rivals in the compact SUV segment have already embraced ADAS technology. The Mahindra XUV 3XO offers Level 2 ADAS with features such as forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and driver drowsiness detection, starting at Rs 11.99 lakh. The Kia Sonet provides Level 1 ADAS with front collision warning, lane keep assist and high beam assist. Meanwhile, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza does not currently offer ADAS in its feature set.

The timing of the Nexon's ADAS introduction is strategic, arriving just ahead of the new Hyundai Venue's debut. The 2025 Venue will feature Level 1 ADAS when it launches on 4 November, along with a comprehensive design overhaul inspired by the Creta. With both manufacturers now offering advanced safety technology in the sub-4 metre segment, the competition for safety-conscious buyers has intensified significantly.
