Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, is furthering the infrastructural development in the commercial business space by installing over 850 electric bus charging points in major cities across India.
The company has already powered more than 2,300 e-buses through its expansive charging network spanning over 30 bus depots in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Goa, Jammu, and Srinagar. This initiative has enabled state transport corporations like DTC, BEST, BMTC, JSCL, SSCL, and BRTS-AJL to adopt e-buses in collaboration with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Tata Power's bus charging infrastructure features high-capacity fast chargers with a range of 180-240 KW, allowing buses to be charged in just 1 to 1.5 hours. This rapid charging capability supports the demanding operational needs of public transport buses.
Delhi leads in e-bus presence utilizing Tata Power's charging points, followed by Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Jammu, and Srinagar. The widespread adoption of e-buses has led to savings of more than 1 lakh tonnes of tailpipe carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
In addition to charging infrastructure, Tata Power has designed and constructed various bus depots across the country. The company plans to offer end-to-end solutions, including charging infrastructure development, customized design, timely execution, and comprehensive operation and maintenance services.
Additionally, Tata Power also provides a range of green energy solutions, such as rooftop solar, home automation, smart metering, and EV charging, to promote sustainable lifestyles. Its 'Sustainable Is Attainable' movement aims to foster widespread adoption of green energy solutions.
