The Punch.ev is the fourth EV from the manufacturer and it also debuts the brand’s new ‘acti.ev’ architecture.
After debuting its new acti.ev architecture earlier this month, Tata Motors has now launched the Punch.ev starting from ₹10.99 Lakh. The electric sub-compact SUV is available in five variants (or as Tata likes to call them Personas) - Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered+. Moreover, the last three variants are further available with a bigger battery pack and are christened as ‘Long Range’ (LR) models. Check out the detailed price list of all variants below
The newly launched Tata Punch.ev is available with a 35kWh battery pack option as the standard option. With this pack, it offers a MIDC range of 315 km and it comes with two electric motor options, 60kW and 90kW. The former produces 114Nm and the latter is good for 190Nm of torque. Tata Motor claims that the new Punch.ev can sprint from 0-100kmph in just 9.5 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited to 140kmph.
Tata Motors is offering the Punch.ev with the option of a 3.3kW and 7.2kW AC fast charger options. There’s also a 50kW DC Fast option available that can charge from 10-80 per cent in just 56 minutes.
The exterior of the Tata Punch.ev aligns with the current design ethos of the brand’s product line-up. Moreover, there are several premium tech elements available on the exterior. These are mainly the new bi-functional LEDs coupled with a central position lamp. It now also gets the “Welcome and Goodbye” signature light show, which clearly sets the standard for the Punch.ev.
Available for the first time with the Punch badge, the new Punch.ev now debuts a completely digital cluster. Eventually, this new set-up will also make it to the Punch ICE as well. There are two 10-inch displays on the dashboard from HARMAN, one is for the infotainment display and the other is for the instrument cluster. The new two-spoke steering wheel with the Tata logo digital display also makes its way into the Punch.ev.
Additionally, the controls on the dashboard are both touch and physical control which Tata Motors calls them Phygital control. Along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Tata Punch.ev also gets Arcade.ev which gives you access to more than 17 apps, including both OTT and gaming.
From ventilated leatherette seats to an electric sunroof, and an air purifier with AQI display, the Tata Punch.ev pushes the envelop in the comfort department. On the outside, the sub-compact SUV also gets automatic headlamps, auto-dimming IRVM, and rain-sensing wipers.
Standard safety features available with the Punch.ev include 6-airbags, Electronic Stability Porgram, Roll-over mitigation, brake disc wiping, SOS calling with E-call, and hydraulic fading compensation. The top-spec Punch.ev will also be available with a 360-degree surround view camera with park assist, and B-call, and electronic parking brake.
