Tata Motors has also added premium features such as 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and paddle shifters to the Punch lineup.

Tata Motors has finally launched a mid-cycle facelift to the Punch almost four and a half years after it was first introduced. Prices for the Punch facelift start at an introductory ₹5.59 lakh and go up to ₹9.29 lakh (both ex-showroom). Bookings for the updated Tata Punch have begun at all dealerships across the country whereas deliveries of the car are expected to commence later this month.

Tata is offering the facelifted Punch in six trims namely Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Accomplished, and Accomplished Plus S. The company has announced that Tata Punch facelift has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat NCAP.

Tata Punch Facelift: Design

The updated Tata Punch adheres to the company’s current design language seen across the entire SUV lineup. As a result, chunky headlamps have been replaced by vertically stacked LED units, lending the SUV a more contemporary appearance. The micro SUV adopts a more squared-off stance compared to its EV counterpart, featuring a blacked-out enclosed grille flanked by newly designed angular LED daytime running lights. The front bumper has been reworked, incorporating new black cladding and a brushed silver surround for the air dam.

The Punch facelift introduces new 16-inch Trail Crest alloy wheel designs that enhance its premium appeal. Black cladding around the wheel arches and along the lower sections of the doors has been retained, while the rear now features connected LED taillamps with a revised internal signature. Tata has also adopted a sleeker logo for the updated Punch and will offer a new range of exterior colour options, including Cyantafic Blue, Caramel Yellow, Bengal Rouge Red, Daytona Grey, Coorg Clouds Silver, and Pristine White.

Tata Punch Facelift: Interiors & Features

The updated cabin of the Punch facelift incorporates revised elements inspired by Tata’s larger Nexon and Altroz models. The most significant update is a new 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, while the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system — although unchanged in size from the previous model — is also a fresh unit. The facelift further introduces Tata’s two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, along with a touch-sensitive climate control panel. Completing the update is a new dual-tone blue and grey upholstery scheme.

Other amenities offered in the Punch facelift include a voice-assisted electric sunroof, a wireless phone charger, an auto-dimming IRVM, an 8-speaker sound system, height-adjustable driver seat, and Tata’s iRA connected car technology.

Tata Punch Facelift: Powertrain

In facelifted form, the Tata Punch will be offered with two petrol powertrain options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit. The naturally aspirated motor delivers 86 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque. This engine will also be offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit, albeit in a detuned state, producing 72 bhp and 103 Nm of torque. In both applications, the engine is available with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.

Also, joining the line-up for the first time is a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine in the new Tata Punch iTurbo, sourced from the Altroz Racer and Nexon. This unit develops 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque while being paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. With a 0 to 100 kmph acceleration in 11.1 seconds, the Punch iTurbo becomes the fastest vehicle in its segment.
