The Tata Punch facelift wears a sharper exterior over the predecessor, while the cabin gets subtle improvements. Here's what you should expect on the 2026 Punch.
Tata Motors recently pulled the wraps off the Punch facelift ahead of its launch on January 13, 2026. The Tata Punch facelift gets sharper styling while the cabin has received a major update with a bigger screen. The new Punch will also feature a turbo petrol engine, making it one of the biggest changes on the micro SUV. Here's a quick breakdown of what we know so far and what you should expect on the launch day.

The 2026 Tata Punch facelift sports an evolved look with sharper-looking LED DRLs, and a revised grille finished in gloss black. The bumper has been revised with new black cladding and brushed silver surround around the air dam. The chunky headlamps are gone and have made way for the vertically stacked LED headlamps. There’s a front camera mounted on the lower air intake confirming the 360-degree surround view feature on the sub-4-metre SUV.

The Punch facelift sports new alloy wheels, giving the SUV a more upmarket appearance. The black cladding around the wheel arches and the lower part of the doors continues, while the rear gets new connected taillights with a new internal design. Tata has also moved to a sleeker looking logo on the updated Punch, while there will be new colour options available at the launch.

The new cabin gets revised elements borrowing cues from the bigger Nexon and Altroz models. The big change comes in the form of the new digital instrument console, while the 10.25-inch (previous model has the same size) touchscreen infotainment system is new as well. Tata has also incorporated its two-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated logo, and the touch-sensitive climate control panel. The interior now features a new dual-tone upholstery in blue and grey. We expect to see more subtle changes across the vehicle.
While official details are yet to be announced, the new Punch is expected to get the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine from the Altroz. It needs to be seen if the motor will be differently tuned over the bigger hatch. The teasers also confirm a 6-speed manual gearbox with the turbo motor. The current 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol will continue, and so will the CNG iteration. Transmission options will include the 5-speed manual and AMT options, and we hope there’s a CNG+AMT combination this time.

Expect the Tata Punch facelift to arrive with a marginal hike in prices, which will keep the micro SUV competitive against models like the Hyundai Exter, Citroen C3, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. Prices should be identical to the outgoing model but expect a marginal hike, keeping the latest additions in check. More details on the new Punch will be available on January 13. Keep watching this space for all the action.
