The Tata Punch facelift has obtained a five-star rating from Bharat NCAP following crash test evaluations in December 2025. The compact SUV scored 30.58 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. The ratings apply to the Pure+ CNG AMT and Accompanied CNG MT variants, with applicability extending to additional variants listed in the official annexure.
In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the vehicle received 14.71 out of 16 points. The side movable deformable barrier test yielded 15.87 out of 16 points. Results from the frontal offset test showed that the driver received protection ranging from adequate to good across the head, neck, chest, and knee regions. The passenger received comparable protection levels. Testing also included side pole impact evaluations, which recorded satisfactory performance.

For child occupant protection, the Punch facelift scored the maximum 24 points for dynamic testing. The vehicle achieved 12 points in child restraint system installation assessment and 9 out of 13 points in vehicle assessment. Testing utilised child restraint systems from manufacturers including Joie i-Spin Safe and compatible alternatives. The test included evaluation of both 18-month-old and three-year-old child dummies positioned in rearward-facing configurations.
Safety equipment fitted as standard on tested variants includes six airbags across frontal and side positions, electronic stability control, seat belt reminders, and ISOFIX anchoring systems. The vehicle features ISOFIX points at outboard positions on the second row. Standard equipment also includes a 360-degree camera system, blind spot monitoring, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The Punch ICE achieves an advancement in assessment outcomes when compared to results from earlier Punch testing. During 2021 Global NCAP testing, the original Punch generation received a five-star rating for adult protection and four-star rating for child protection. The original model scored 16.45 out of 17 points for adult protection in that evaluation. Global NCAP noted that the 2021 model was tested with dual airbags, ABS, and ISOFIX anchorages without the inclusion of electronic stability control or side head protection systems as standard features.

The Punch EV variant obtained five-star ratings in both adult and child occupant protection categories from Bharat NCAP in 2024, with scores of 31.46 out of 32 and 45 out of 49 respectively. The ICE variant's scores position it competitively within the compact SUV segment, demonstrating that manufacturers have continued to enhance safety design and system integration across model generations.
