Tata Technologies has inaugurated its first innovation centre in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The new facility will focus on developing and testing vehicle software solutions for Tata Technologies' global automotive customers.
Located in Coimbatore's automotive hub, the innovation centre will provide opportunities for local engineering talent to work on cutting-edge projects in fields like embedded software, advanced driver assistance systems, connected mobility, cybersecurity and more. The projects will involve activities from conceptual design to validation and testing using hardware-in-the-loop simulations.
Tata Technologies plans to employ 100 vehicle software professionals from the local engineering community at the innovation centre initially.
The centre will support Tata Technologies' global customers across the automotive value chain, from product development to after-sales services. It aims to accelerate innovations that can help automakers transition to software-defined, connected and electric vehicles in the future.
At the inauguration, Mr Warren Harris, MD and CEO of Tata Technologies said, "This strategic initiative will ensure a continuous exchange of talent, ideas, and solutions, propelling the industry forward into a future defined by innovation and efficiency. Together, we aim to create a centre of excellence that will pioneer the future of vehicle-software systems and contribute to our vision of engineering a better world."
