Bengaluru will initially have a Supercharger station and a service centre, with an experience centre also in the pipeline.
At the inauguration of the Delhi Experience Centre in Aerocity, Tesla announced that the third city in its India expansion plan is Bengaluru. In the capital of Karnataka, Tesla India will initially establish a Supercharger station and a service centre. The company has also confirmed to Acko Drive that it intends to open an experience centre in Bengaluru.
However, there is no official timeline for when operations in Bengaluru will begin. Locations for the three touchpoints have also not been disclosed. It is possible that, like in Delhi NCR and Mumbai, Bengaluru could eventually have four Supercharger stations and multiple destination charger stations.
Delhi NCR is also likely to have a second experience centre, possibly in Gurugram. It is believed that the Gurugram location will open on Sohna Road, as sites on Golf Course Road and other premium areas may not have the space Tesla India requires. If so, Delhi NCR could become the first region in India to have two experience centres.
Tesla India has also commenced operations of its Supercharger stations in Mumbai and Delhi NCR. In Mumbai, the charging hub is located in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, while in Delhi NCR, the hub is operational in the same complex as the Experience Centre. Three additional Supercharger stations will be opened in both cities, with the planned locations listed below:
Superchargers in Mumbai
Superchargers in Delhi NCR
The Superchargers installed in India are Version 4 units, meaning they can charge electric vehicles (EVs) other than Tesla models. For now, Tesla India officials have stated that the Superchargers will be available exclusively for Tesla vehicles but will soon be open to EVs from other brands as well.
Deliveries for the Model Y will begin in September for the base-spec Model Y RWD, while deliveries for the Model Y RWD Long Range will start in October. Prices for the Model Y range between ₹59.89 lakh and ₹67.89 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
