Tesla has stepped up its India growth with the opening of its second showroom, a Tesla Experience Centre, at Worldmark 3, Aerocity, Delhi. The announcement came just under a month after its inaugural launch in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on July 15, 2025, marking the EV giant's commitment to cornering early space in India's luxury electric market.

Aerocity is a luxury business and hospitality destination situated equidistant between Delhi and Gurugram, with easy access to the airport, embassies, and corporate headquarters. This location provides Tesla direct access to high-net-worth clients, frequent flyers, and corporate fleet purchasers.
The Delhi site has four V4 Superchargers that provide 250 kW DC charging at ₹24/kWh, sufficient to add up to 238 km of range in 15 minutes to the Model Y RWD and 267 km to the LR RWD. Similar to the Mumbai chargers, these too will be exclusive to Tesla owners first, with public availability likely on a phased basis. Even these are installed in the basement parking of the Worldmark tower.

Tesla sells the Model Y in India in two variants:
Both share an electronically capped top speed of 201 kmph. A self-driving package for ₹6 lakh is on offer, although some features are subject to regulatory clearance.
Potential buyers or even the general public can visit the Delhi Experience Centre to check out the Model Y, schedule test drives, and go through cutting-edge tech demos such as Autopilot visualisations and car infotainment systems. The showroom also has an exclusive accessories and merchandise section.

Tesla's bold retail launch positions it against Mercedes-Benz's EQ line, BMW's i division, and BYD's high-end EVs. While competitors prioritise dealer networks, Tesla's direct-to-consumer model and closed-loop charging infrastructure provide a differentiated advantage, but also the complication of expanding service and support.
We anticipate the Model 3 to be Tesla's next Indian launch, considering its worldwide popularity and affordability compared to the Model Y. The Model S and Model X high-performance models are also on the cards but are unlikely contenders for India because of size and homologation issues.
