This Chennai-Based Electric Motorcycle Just Broke Two Records in 19 Days—Here's How

Raptee.HV announced on 13th February 2026 that its T30 electric motorcycle completed a 7,530-kilometre ride across India in 19 days, entering both the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records. The journey marks the first time an electric motorcycle in India has completed a ride of this distance. 

The T30 motorcycle used CCS2 DC fast-charging technology, which allowed access to over 40,000 public DC fast chargers built for electric cars across India. The rider, Baala Manikandan, covered an average of 407 kilometres per day, nearly 100 kilometres more than his previous electric rides. 

The motorcycle charged in 30 minutes at DC fast-charging stations and took about an hour to reach 80 per cent at AC charging locations. The battery health remained at 100 per cent after the journey, despite extensive fast charging throughout the ride. The ride took the same time as a petrol motorcycle would typically take for a similar distance. 

Dinesh Arjun, CEO and co-founder of Raptee.HV, said the T30 completed the journey without a single breakdown. The company developed the motorcycle over seven years with complete in-house control of hardware and software. 

Previous Electric Motorcycle Records

Manikandan previously set two records for electric motorcycle riding, including a 6,727-kilometre journey on the Ultraviolette F77 in 22 days in 2023, which also entered the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records. 

Timothy Marchinda from the USA holds the Guinness World Record for the longest journey by electric motorcycle at 18,727 kilometres across America, completed between 20th June and 31st July 2022. The journey lasted 42 days and covered 24 states. 

Verge Motorcycles from Finland set a Guinness World Record for the longest journey by an electric motorbike on a single charge at 310.689 kilometres in Greater London on 22nd March 2025. Jean Francois Reumaux and Nathanael Maury hold another Guinness record for the greatest distance by electric motorcycle on a single charge at 673 kilometres, set in Laos on 20th February 2023.
