Renault's electric jet ski, the Searacer, joins a wave of electric mobility concepts for land and water.
Renault literally made with the unveiling of the Searacer, its first electric jet ski. Developed in collaboration with Flavien Neyertz of Searider, a French startup, the Searacer promises exhilarating performance for water sports enthusiasts, all while keeping the environment in mind.
The key feature of the Searacer is its high-density electric motor. While specific horsepower details remain under wraps, Renault assures riders of a thrilling experience. The jet ski boasts a top speed of 77 kmph, perfect for carving up waves or zipping across the water.
But the Searacer isn't just about speed. Designed to be user-friendly, it caters to both experienced athletes and novices. Renault suggests the jet ski might offer adjustable power or different riding modes, making it suitable for a wider range of skill levels. This inclusivity, coupled with its two-hour range, allows riders to enjoy extended adventures on the water.
The Searacer's development in the south of France hints at a focus on quality and regional expertise in water sports. This electric jet ski is a strong contender in the growing electric watercraft market, offering an eco-friendly and exhilarating alternative to traditional gas-powered models.
This is just one element of Renault's ambitious "5 Movements" project, which showcases a diverse range of electric mobility solutions beyond the road. The centerpiece is the Searacer, their first electric jet ski, designed for water sports enthusiasts with a focus on performance and user-friendliness.
Alongside the Searacer, the "5 Movements" project includes the Moonbike, a compact electric snowmobile, the Evol BMX, an electric bicycle for urban commutes, the Reverso, a foldable sailboat for easy storage and transport, and the Plume Foil, an electric surfboard for calm water cruising.
