The electric SUV will make its debut at the upcoming 2023 Tokyo Motor Show.
With the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show coming up soon, Toyota has announced all the new cars, motorcycles and concepts it will exhibit. Particularly interesting of the lot at Toyota’s stall will be the Land Cruiser Se, a battery electric vehicle using the iconic nameplate.
Toyota has revealed many images and a few key details of the Land Cruiser Se. The upcoming EV SUV will have a high torque output motor and will offer three-row seating. Toyota’s description of the Land Cruiser Se mentions that its electric powertrain will help “create a comfortable cabin when driving in urban areas and other on-road situations.”
The Land Cruiser Se will be built on a monocoque chassis which Toyota claims offers highly responsive handling and can tackle rough terrains confidently. The electric Land Cruiser measures 5,150 mm, 1,990 mm and 1,705 mm in length, width and height, respectively and has a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. Compared to the newly introduced Land Cruiser 250, the EV is 225 mm longer and 10 mm wider and its wheelbase is 200 mm longer. However, the Land Cruiser 250 is 155 mm taller than the EV.

It is still in concept form and can be seen with thin LED headlights and tail-lights with full-width LED light bars on both ends. The Land Cruiser Se gets Toyota’s ‘Beyond Zero’ and ‘BEV’ badges on the front fenders and the tail-gate. The EV SUV gets many straight lines and angular edges with its flared wheel arches sporting a ‘squircle’ design giving the Land Cruiser Se a butch, boxy look. It also has blacked-out pillars and a contrasting roof finished in Copper. Speaking of which, even the alloy wheels and wing mirrors get the same Copper finish. Like the Land Cruiser 250, the SE also sports the Toyota lettering instead of the logo on the grille and tail-gate.
Toyota is yet to show the interior of the Land Cruiser Se and we expect it to be fully revealed during the upcoming 2023 Toyko Motor Show which starts on October 26. Along with the interior, expect Toyota to give more information about the powertrain of the Land Cruiser Se.
Other exhibits at Toyota’s stall in Tokyo Motor Show 2023 will be the EPU pick up truck, the Land Hopper electric three-wheeler, the JUU electric wheelchair, the Space Mobility prototype meant for mobility on the moon and outer space, and lastly the Neo Steer interior concept.
