Unofficial pre-bookings are open at dealers

Speaking to several Triumph dealers across the country, we have come to know that the British bike maker is getting ready to launch the new Daytona 660 in India, likely in April. Even though Triumph hasn’t officially begun accepting bookings for the bike, several dealers across the nation have started collecting token amounts for the arrival of the Daytona 660. Considering the bike's aspirational value the Daytona name carries as well as the positioning of the bike, the ex-showroom price is expected to be close to ₹10 lakh.

The Daytona 660 carries forward the design language of its more serious predecessor. Its sharp fairing lines integrate seamlessly with the rest of the bodywork. However, the riding ergonomics are designed for better everyday usability compared to the more aggressive Daytona 675.

Despite the Daytona 660 sharing its engine platform with Triumph's other 660cc offerings, like the Trident 660 and the Tiger Sport 660, it boasts higher power figures. The 660 cc triple produces 95 bhp and 69 Nm, which is 15 bhp and 5 Nm more than its naked counterpart.

This powerplant sits within a steel perimeter frame, suspended on a Showa 41mm USD fork and a preload-adjustable Showa monoshock. Braking duties are handled by twin 310mm discs upfront and a single 220mm rear disc. The 17-inch alloy wheels come wrapped with lovely Michelin Road 5 tyres, which are amongst the best in the world.
