The new Scrambler 400 XC is ₹28,000 dearer than the Scrambler 400 X, and here’s what you get for this extra premium.
Triumph’s fourth motorcycle in its 400 cc lineup, the Scrambler 400 XC, builds on the existing Scrambler 400X’s scrambling potential. The XC was launched recently at ₹2.94 lakh and carries forward the basic elements from the 400X. It is ₹28,000 dearer than the Scrambler 400 X. Here’s what Triumph is providing as standard for that extra premium:
The most noticeable upgrade on the Scrambler 400 XC are the tubeless spoke wheels. It’s available in the same 19-/17-inch combination as the alloy wheels of the Scrambler 400 X. Even the tyres are of the same 100/90 and 140/80 sizes. The addition of spoke wheels should improve its off-roading potential slightly without having to worry about punctures.

Triumph has also updated the protective bits on offer here. Therefore, gone is the hardened plastic engine bash plate, and in comes a metal bash plate. A small body-coloured windscreen and high-rise mudguard will also come as standard here.
Lastly, to help distinguish the new Triumph Scrambler 400 XC are three new colour options, namely – Racing Yellow, Storm Grey, and Vanilla White. All these new shades are visible on the tank, front fender and windscreen, which is further spruced up by a vintage-styled racing stripe on the side of the tank as well as on the windscreen. Meanwhile, the minimalist tail section has aesthetically remained the same as the Scrambler 400 X.

Both are built around a tubular steel frame with a bolt-on rear subframe. It is suspended by a 43 mm USD fork and a monoshock, good for 150 mm travel at both ends. The 398.15 cc engine is also tuned the same to produce 39.4 bhp and 37.5 Nm in both the bikes.
