Triumph's Speed 400 and Speed T4 get attractive price cuts this festive season, making them more competitive against Royal Enfield and KTM rivals.
Triumph Motorcycles has announced a price reduction on its popular Speed 400 and Speed T4 models, despite the recent GST increase on motorcycles above 350cc.
Partnering with Bajaj Auto Ltd., Triumph has absorbed the additional tax burden, making its bikes more affordable for Indian riders just in time for the festive season.
This customer-centric decision could boost sales and strengthen Triumph’s position in the competitive mid-size motorcycle segment.
The Speed 400 is now priced at ₹2,33,754, down from ₹2,50,551, a reduction of ₹16,797. Similarly, the Speed T4 is available at ₹1,92,539, reduced from ₹2,06,738, offering a discount of ₹14,199. This bold pricing strategy comes as a relief for enthusiasts amid rising costs in the industry.
As per Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd, absorbing the impact and introducing a price slash will ensure that the Speed range delivers unmatched value. He claims that the company has also seen monthly volumes nearly double since FY23–24, with a strong surge in demand before the GST revision.
The Triumph Speed 400 is powered by a 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, delivering 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. It features a 6-speed gearbox, a top speed of around 145 kmph, and a 13-litre fuel tank, offering a blend of performance and efficiency.
The Speed T4, which is basically a toned-down Speed 400, is also equipped with a 398.15cc engine. However, it produces 30.6 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Both models boast features like slipper clutch and dual-channel ABS.
With the festive season approaching, the reduced prices are expected to drive demand and help Triumph compete better with Royal Enfield and KTM.
