The Speed Twin 1200 RS is a more performance-focused version of the large modern roadster.
The new Triumph Speed Twin 1200 and its more performance-focused avatar, the new Speed Twin 1200 RS, have now made its way to Indian shores. The former has been launched at ₹12.75 lakh, while the sporty RS variant will set you back by ₹15.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Delivery for both motorcycles should commence soon enough.
Starting with the heart, both the bikes carry forward the same 1200 cc, parallel-twin engine. The motor has been updated, not just to comply with the latest emission norms, but also to produce more power: 103.5 bhp, which is 4.93 bhp more. The 112 Nm of torque output has remained the same as before.
While both the bikes continue to be built around the same tubular steel frame. The base Speed Twin 1200 employs a Marzocchi-sourced USD fork and dual-shock absorbers while on the RS, you get a fully-adjustable Marzocchi USD fork and Ohlins dual-shock absorbers. Additionally, Triumph has also tweaked the ergonomics of the Speed Twin 1200 RS wherein it repositions the handlebar and footpegs for a more sportier stance. The Brembo Stylema brakes and the Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tyres are common in both bikes, though.
Triumph has optimised the cornering ABS and traction control. It has also included new ride modes – Road and Rain, and Sport on the RS. The controls to all these can now be accessed via the same Trident 660-sourced round LCD-cum-TFT display that supports smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, etc.
Lastly, to compliment this set of updates is a renewed body design. For starters, the tank shape is now more sculpted, and the side panels have been simplified further with monochrome colours. The throttle body covers have also decreased in size, but the LED headlight with signature DRLs are all new. Along with that, both bikes feature new cast aluminum wheels with a nice sporty turbine pattern.
Rounding up these set aesthetic updates are new colour options. The 2025 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 will now be available in Crystal White, Carnival Red, and Aluminium Silver colour schemes. While the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 RS will be available with just two colour options – Baja Orange and Sapphire Black – both with RS decals.
