The upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 is slated to be the brand’s most expensive 400 cc offering.
The much-anticipated Triumph Thruxton 400 has been confirmed for launch on August 6. The bike was recently spotted being ridden in public roads without any camouflage as part of the TVC shoot. It is expected to be the brand’s most premium 400 cc bike in India and be its most expensive proposition as well. Currently, the Triumph Scramble 400 XC is the most expensive 400 cc bike in Triumph’s portfolio as it retails at ₹2.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Therefore, the upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 might be priced between ₹3.00-₹3.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
Given that the Triumph Thruxton 400 is essentially a cafe racer iteration of the Speed 400, the mechanical and hardware aspect of both the bikes will essentially be the same. Therefore, it will be the same 399 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm in the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X and XC. The Thruxton 400 might also boast the same spec sheet, but its final drive might be slightly different to compliment the cafe racer’s sporty character.

One of the biggest talking points of the Triumph Thruxton 400 will be its retro-racer styled semi-fairing design, which is inspired from Triumph’s flagship Thruxton range. The fairing design is complimented by bar-end mirrors, but underneath this design it will be the same hardware. Therefore, the USD fork and monoshock setup, as well as the disc brake setup will remain the same. Even the 17-/17-inch alloy wheels combo will remain the same. Similarly, feature-wise, it will carry forward the same semi-digital instrument console as well, with no connectivity feature whatsoever.
So stay tuned to this space, for we will get you more details about the Triumph Thruxton. By the way, last year we had an exclusive chance to ride the Thruxton 400 before anyone else in India. Check out how the bike rides in the video below:
