It pays tribute to Triumph’s inline-3 engine and its five-time Isle of Man TT-winning Trident “Slippery Sam”.
Commemorating its dominance in the revered Isle of Man TT racing with the Trident, Triumph has unveiled the Trident Triple Tribute Special Edition motorcycle. Limited to production for just one year only, the naked roadster gets a distinctive graphic scheme that is reminiscence of the company’s famous ‘white, blue and red’ racing scheme that adorned its famous Trident aka “Slippery Sam” – the only motorcycle in the history of Isle of Man TT racing to have won the competition five times consecutively from 1971 to 1975.
Keeping the overall aesthetic of the bike uniform, the white, blue, and red scheme carries onto the flyscreen and belly pan as well, which are additions available as standard. The tank design with the number 67 race graphic further reinstates the brand’s homage to the original race bike.

Mechanically, it's the same as the standard Trident. So, housed within the perimeter frame is Trriumph’s 660 cc, inline-3 engine that produces 80 bhp at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm at 6,250 rpm. Being a special edition model, this Trident 660 also gets quickshifter aka Triumph Shift Assist as standard.
Similarly, hardware components and features are also the same as the standard Trident 660. Thereby, Showa USD forks, and preload-adjustable monoshock, twin 310 mm disc with two-piston Nissin brake calipers, and 17-inch aluminium wheels wrapped in Michelin Road 5 tyres have been carried over from the standard bike. The multi-functional colour TFT screen, all-LED lighting, ABS modes (Road and Rain), switchable traction, etc features have also been retained.
Ex-showroom prices for this special bike in the European market start from £7,895 (i.e. ₹8.30 lakh as per current exchange rates). While Triumph India is yet to officially announce the launch of this bike for our market, it will be priced above the standard Trident 660’s ₹8.12 lakh (ex-showroom). We think the special colours and the quickshifter fitment could add roughly Rs 65,000 - Rs 70,000.
