TVS Indus Teased, Might Be Brand’s Upcoming Battery Cells Manufacturing Plan

TVS has released a teaser on its official Instagram of an upcoming product: “Indus”. It is very well possible that the Indus would be something related to its upcoming new electric scooter that was already spotted recently. In May 2025, the company’s CEO, K N Radhakrishnan, had revealed that its upcoming range of electric scooters was in the final stages of development, and that it would be launched by this quarter in FY 26.

In the investor conference, Radhakrishnan also noted that TVS plans to make battery cells in India. It had already started talks with several interested parties with potential discussions on localising some components manufacturing for electric scooters. Indus might also refer to this battery manufacturing plan – The “Idea” that will take us places. 

TVS has been the king of electric scooters in India for the past couple of months. The top and mid-spec versions of the iQube electric scooter were updated earlier this year with a significant price slash. The upcoming electric scooter from the Hosur-based manufacturer is also expected to slot below the iQube with a very generic design.
