Hero’s all-electric sub-division, Vida, is all set to debut two brand new electric scooters on July 1. While details about these electric scooters are limited at the moment, Hero is expected to reveal them in bits and pieces as we inch closer towards the launch date. Moreover, given how the entire electric two-wheeler market has been pushing for low-cost electric mobility options, the upcoming Vida electric scooters are also expected to be of the same kind, wherein they might be priced around ₹1 lakh or under.
Furthermore, the teaser shared suggests these new e-scooters might be called the Vida VX2, something that uses the V2 platform’s learnings but in a more cost-friendly manner. Hence, we expect the upcoming Vida scooters might get the brand’s 2.2 kWh battery that is already powering the Vida V2 Lite. Thereby, its IDC-claimed 94 km of range might carry over too, and a top speed of 69 kmph can be the order of the day here. Design-wise, Hero might cut a few corners for a less premium appeal, and the feature list might be very simple without much connectivity features.

Hero MotoCorp silently pulled the plug on the Vida V1 earlier this year. It was positioned below the Vida V2 and was priced from ₹1.16 lakh (ex-showroom price) onwards. Considering Hero wants to improve its standings in the electric space, where traditional rivals like TVS and Bajaj are flourishing, the new low-cost e-scooters will play a key role here.
