The flexibility allows buyers to pay a lower asking price for the Ultraviolette F77 and X-47, while the battery is available separately with a subscription price starting at ₹2,499 per month (₹2.5 per km).
Bengaluru-based manufacturer Ultraviolette has announced the introduction of battery-as-a-service (BaaS) on the F77 and X-47 electric motorcycles, making the offerings more accessible for customers. Under UV Battery Flex, customers will have to only pay for the electric bike removing the price of the battery from the equation. The Ultraviolette X-47 is now more affordable with a starting price of ₹1.49 lakh, while the Ultraviolette F77 is priced from ₹1.99 lakh onwards under the BaaS program.
Ultraviolette has announced it will be providing Battery Flex in partnership with Ecofy, a green-focused, non-banking financial company (NBFC), which will enable battery financing. The flexibility allows buyers to pay a lower asking price for the F77 and X-47, while the battery is available separately with a subscription price starting at ₹2,499 per month (₹2.5 per km). Ultravilolette says the reduced upfront cost makes the F77 and X-47 lower by about 40 per cent. Moreover, at the end of the subscription period, the battery ownership will be transferred to the customer at no additional cost.
Speaking about introducing BaaS on its bikes, Narayan Subramaniam, CEO & Co-founder - Ultraviolette, said, “At ₹2.5 lakh, Ultraviolette was at price parity with similarly powered ICE motorcycles. Now, with a starting price of ₹1.5 lakh, riders gain access to better technology, features, and performance that outpaces every segment. With operating costs as low as ₹2499 per month, which is less than the average spends on petrol, we are redefining what affordability means in motorcycling. The introduction of Battery Flex makes performance, technology-driven mobility more attainable and practical for riders across India, while keeping the focus firmly on what matters most: the thrill of riding an Ultraviolette.”
Niraj Rajmohan, CTO & Co-founder - Ultraviolette, added, “Battery technology sits at the core of every electric vehicle, and at Ultraviolette we have invested years of R&D to ensure our batteries deliver uncompromised performance, safety, and longevity. With the launch of Battery Flex, we are extending this innovation to our customers in a way that is both flexible and accessible. It reflects our commitment to building technology that adapts to customer needs and makes performance mobility more practical than ever before."
There are no changes to the UV F77 and X-47 in terms of the powertrain. Both bikes comes with a PMS motor tuned for about 40 bhp and 100 Nm of peak torque. Battery options include a 7.1 kWh unit on the Standard variant with a claimed range of 211 km , while the Recon gets the 10.3 kWh unit with a claimed range of 323 km on a single charge.
