In the quest to push the boundaries of performance electric motorcycling, Ultraviolette will be attempting to set two national records with its souped up F99 electric ‘superbike’ in the next 90 days. The Bengaluru electric performance bike maker has been touting the F99 Racing Platform for a while, the intention being to put it into a one-make racing championship. And with the new announcement, it intends to smash speed records for an Indian motorcycle.
Ultraviolette is attempting to set the records for India’s fastest motorcycle, i.e. the highest top speed, as well as the quickest quarter mile time. Currently, the fastest Indian bike is TVS Apache RR 310 Asia Road Racing Championship One-make race bike that set the top speed of 215.9 kmph at Buriram International Circuit in Thailand at the hands of TVS’ new star racer: Sarthak Chavan. Even the drag-spec souped up RR 310 clocked a quarter mile time of 11.523 seconds in 2022.
It is ironic that Ultraviolette will be attempting to beat these records held by TVS as the latter is the biggest backer of the electric bike maker. Both share the same passion for racing and speed and the core identity of promoting Indian engineering resonates highly with the two brands. Also, the attempted run will be taking place at the upcoming Valley Run event in late-November at the Aamby Valley airstrip, the same location and event where TVS set the drag record with its RR 310 in 2022.
We are keen to witness just how far Ultraviolette aims to push the envelope further as the expectation is to cross the 220 kmph barrier. And if it does so, it would certainly be something that no Indian manufacturer (ICE or electric) would have managed to do so far.
